UK Insurance Industry Proposes Future Pandemic Response – Insurtech Can Help.

As the global coronavirus pandemic continues to ravage commerce throughout the globe, insurance leaders from the UK have come together to form a steering group which aims to ensure that the industry supports customers and communities in the current crisis and so that it can strengthen its efforts in response to future pandemics.

Held on Friday 17th April, the first group meeting set out to agree the group’s key objectives. These included that the industry needs to pay claims quicker and to continue to provide people and businesses with the protection they require. The main role of the group is to propose an industry-wide response to both the government and country.

As the current coronavirus pandemic pushes all industries towards new ways of working, including conferencing tools such as Zoom, insurtech solutions are playing an increasingly significant role across the insurance sector.

claimsplanet app has proven to be an invaluable tool for increasing levels of insurance claims management, streamlining the entire process and thus, resulting in speedier payouts throughout the pandemic. This is thanks to the entire claims management process being conducted within one easy-to-use app. Available on all Apple and Android mobile devices, a claim is remotely assigned, cutting out travel and personal interactions. Once the user has documented damage using time and geo-tagged images and video, they annotate the damage, then sign and submit the claim for rapid processing. Messaging and document processing, including letters-of-settlement, are all processed through the app.

Unlike a number of tools on the uptake, claimsplanet meets all GDPR data guidelines, making it fully compliant and suitable for business-to-consumer usage.
